Bridging the Gap Between Journalism Education and the Newsroom
The Camer Today News Project (CTNP) is a practical journalism-development initiative created to help journalism students, recent graduates and young reporters move confidently from the classroom into the newsroom.
We believe journalism is best learned by doing. CTNP combines practical training, newsroom experience, mentorship, publishing opportunities and professional networking to help emerging journalists develop the skills they need to thrive in a changing media environment.
What We Do
We create opportunities for emerging journalists to:
LEARN — Build practical journalism and digital media skills.
PRACTISE — Work on real assignments and develop newsroom habits.
PUBLISH — Produce and showcase credible journalism.
MENTOR — Learn from experienced journalists and media professionals.
CONNECT — Build relationships with peers, editors, organisations and the wider media industry.
Who We Serve
CTNP primarily works with journalism students, recent graduates and early-career journalists in Cameroon, while creating opportunities for collaboration across Africa and beyond.
More Than a Classroom
CTNP is not a journalism school. It complements formal journalism education by creating the practical experiences, professional connections and newsroom exposure that are often difficult to replicate in the classroom.
The classroom teaches the principles. The newsroom tests them. CTNP helps build the bridge.
