As journalism schools across Cameroon prepare to welcome a new generation of students, another question deserves attention: what happens after the lecture hall?

The newsroom is changing rapidly. From AI and verification to mobile journalism, digital storytelling and audience engagement, tomorrow’s journalists will need more than theory. The new academic year is an opportunity to rethink how students move from learning journalism to actually practising it.

The classroom matters. But the newsroom is waiting.
